Rates

You can book through our website, by email, or by phone. If you have some flexibility on dates, let us know — we can often suggest a combination that saves you money. Peak season (December to February) has a 14-day minimum hire. The rest of the year, the minimum is 5 days.

Airport Pick-Up and Drop-Off

If you are flying into Christchurch Airport, we offer a pick-up service from the airport to your motorhome. This is available Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.

We are also happy to pick you up or drop you to a hotel in the Christchurch area, subject to availability. Just let us know when you book.

One-Way Hire

New Zealand has two main gateways — Auckland in the North Island and Christchurch in the South Island. At this stage we only do Christchurch in the South Island.

Other drop-off locations may be available on request, with an additional charge. Get in touch and we will see what we can do.

Ferry Bookings

If your trip takes you between the North and South Islands, you will need to book a vehicle ferry across the Cook Strait. The two operators are Interislander and Bluebridge.

We recommend booking a fully flexible fare so you can change your sailing if your plans shift. Ferry bookings are made directly with the operator and are not included in your rental.

Vehicle Insurance

Every rental includes standard vehicle insurance with an excess of $7,500. We also offer two reduction options to bring that down — one reduces the excess to $1,000, and the other eliminates it entirely.

Personal Travel Insurance

Our vehicle insurance covers the motorhome, not your personal belongings, medical costs, or trip disruption. We strongly recommend arranging your own comprehensive travel insurance before you arrive in New Zealand.

Payment

A $500 deposit is required at the time of booking. The remaining balance is due 28 days (peak season) or 14 days (off-peak) before your pick-up date. If you book within 30 days, full payment is required straight away.

We accept Visa and Mastercard (credit or debit) and direct bank transfer. A credit card pre-authorisation is taken at pick-up to cover the insurance excess, and released once the vehicle is returned in good condition.

Cancellations

More than 60 days before pick-up — full refund. 28 to 59 days — 25% retained. 8 to 27 days — 50% retained. Less than 7 days — no refund.

If your dates change but you still want to travel, we are happy to move your booking rather than cancel — just let us know as soon as you can.

Road User Charges

All our motorhomes run on diesel. In New Zealand, diesel vehicles pay a Road User Charge (RUC) instead of fuel tax. The current rate is approximately $9.00 per 100 km.

We take care of the RUC for you. The charge is calculated from your odometer reading when you return the vehicle and settled at that time.

Driver’s Licence

You will need a full driver’s licence that you have held for at least two years. If your licence is not in English, you will also need an accredited English translation or an International Driving Permit.

Learner and restricted licences are not accepted. All drivers need to show their licence at pick-up. Additional drivers can be added at no extra charge — just let us know.

Vehicle Return

Please return the vehicle with a full diesel tank, empty waste water tanks (grey and black), and topped-up LPG. Give the inside a quick tidy and you are good to go.

Our return window is 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, Monday to Friday. We will do a quick walkthrough together, settle any Road User Charges, and release your credit card bond within a few business days.
