What’s Included

Comprehensive insurance is included in your daily rental rate for the entire hire period. This covers accidental damage, third-party property damage, fire, theft, and vandalism. Motorhome insurance can be expensive to arrange independently, so we bundle it into every booking — no separate policy needed.

Your Liability (Excess)

In the event of an incident, you may be asked to contribute up to NZ$7,500 toward repairs. This is your liability, sometimes called the excess. If multiple incidents occur during your trip, a separate excess of $7,500 applies to each one. You’ll only ever pay the actual repair cost — if repairs are less than your excess, you pay the lower amount.

We offer three plans that let you reduce or eliminate this liability. These are shown above and can be selected when you book or at pick-up.

What’s Not Covered

No insurance plan, regardless of tier, covers damage resulting from:

• Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
• Driving in breach of traffic laws or your licence conditions
• Wilful or reckless behaviour
• Use of incorrect fuel (e.g. petrol in a diesel engine)
• Overloading the vehicle or exceeding berth limits
• Unauthorised or unlisted drivers
• Overhead damage from ignoring clearance restrictions
• Underbody damage from unsuitable roads or off-road driving
• Damage caused by pets
• Improper fitting of snow chains
• Leaving the vehicle unlocked or keys unsecured
• Any breach of the rental agreement

If Something Happens

Contact us straight away. We’ll guide you through what to do, including any police reporting. Take photos of the damage and let us know what happened — we handle the rest. You’ll always be provided with a repair quote in writing before any charges are applied.
